Tim Lane – Griffith University

Tim Lane is the Griffith University IT Security Projects Manager and has held the position of Chair of the Cybersecurity Community of Practice (CoP) for both CAUDIT and QUDIT for the past several years.   Tim has over 18 years’ experience in the field of cybersecurity, and has operated in a diverse range of roles across a broad array of technology services, including managing large scale projects, strategic planning, and various leadership roles.  In 2016 Tim led a research trip with Southern Cross University, Griffith University and AusCERT to the USA in support of the proposed AusCERT ISAC initiative so as to research Cyber Threat Intelligence, visiting REN-ISAC, Carnegie Mellon University CERT, the National Cyber Forensics Training Alliance, the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security.  In 2017 Tim was nominated for and received AusCERT’s Award for Individual Excellence in Information Security. Tim has a strong interest and passion for cybersecurity and is particularly interested in the areas of emerging threat landscapes, human behaviour and organisational capability and responses to cyber based risk.
